| Actually, I use to think cams did not add much till I started looking at everyones dyno sheet (TT's and hight boost). The weird thing I notice with guys that did not have cams was a drop off at about 5500rpms. about 5 months back I went to go see a TT dyno with GT2530's and it lost 50rwhp because it was running stock cams. [ http://www.ttzd.com/rides/dynocharts/dynocharts.html ] In my quest to find the answer, I came up with harmonic distortion. If you notice the guys with cams don't have that problem. And yes it's my opinion. :)
